Q: What is Video on Demand?
A: Video On Demand (VOD) is a library of movies, TV shows, and events that can be rented through your cable set-top box whenever you want.
Q: How do I sign up for Video on Demand?
A: Congratulations! You’re already signed up if you have an advanced set-top box. Just push the ON DEMAND button on your remote and start browsing. If you don’t have an advanced set top box, call Bardstown Cable at 502 348-5947 and tell them you want Video on Demand. We’ll be happy to help you get set up.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Many programs are included with the packages that you pay for each month (i.e. Disney, History, HBO, Showtime, etc.) New releases and events, such as fights, vary in cost.
Q: Are there any other fees?
A: Nope. No user fees, no processing fees. Just the cost listed beside each individual title.
Q: How do I pay for my movie rentals?
A: With VOD, there’s no need to enter any credit card information. Any rentals will be added to your monthly bill.
Q: Will the name of the movie I rented show up on my bill?
A: Yes. Your Video On Demand purchases will be listed beside your regular service cable bill.
Q: How much do rentals cost?
A: Video on Demand has many free programs to choose from. However, new releases typically cost between $3 and $7. When you want to rent a movie, there’s no guesswork because the cost will be displayed clearly beside the title.
Q: Once I rent something, how much time do I have to watch it?
A: From the time you purchase the program, it is available for 24 hours.
Q: Am I able to record VOD programs?
A: No, you can only view rented programs.
Q: I was watching a program on VOD, but when a recording started, it kicked me out.
A: One tuner of your set-top box must be available to watch VOD content. If you are recording a show, and watching a VOD program, and a scheduled recording occurs, it will override VOD and cancel the VOD session to record the show.
